History

This section is very incomplete! please send us a hail if you have more info on this topic, especially if you know something about communities around species other than Vulcans!

one thing we find to be a bit strange is the lack of Star Trek in the alterhuman community despite the popularity of the show and the influence the fandom has had on internet culture. Our hypothesis is that this is not because the community is too small but rather that it is too big, and that a star trek non-human community does exist, it just exists independent of the alterhuman community. We would like to do further research into this one day, however right now all we have is a brief and patchy history of early mentions of star trek alterhumanity or similar experiences.

We tend to have a bit of a Vulcan bias and so a lot of this history is currently Vulcan specific. however, communities around Klingons and cardassians for example seem to also have similar experiences within them, so we would like to learn more about those later.
